Jalapeño Inspiration

My jalapeño plants are producing dozens of little jalapeño peppers now. I couldn't help but think of green... and the Dolce and Gabbana green snakeskin Mary Jane shoes that have been sitting in my closet. They were my inspiration when I styled this outfit.  I usually start with the shoes and work my way up.

I got the jacket on Etsy for $120. It was originally sold in the 80's for $1100.  Remember the show Dynasty? This jacket would have been worn by Crystal or Alexis.

The D & G shoes retailed for $750 and I snagged them on eBay for $225. How could I resist?  This is what I call bargain shopping. :-)

The vintage croc bag is a MUST for Fall, so if you have the patience, hunt one down like I did. I am MAD for this bag, it is so perfect I love it so much! Thank you MB.

Patent leather green watchband on the Michele watch. I am loving this timepiece and all the opportunity for color it provides. I got an amazing deal on this watch on eBay. Such a great bargain that I almost feel guilty.

The silk blouse is pre-owned. Did you know that clothes do not break down in the land fills?  Buying pre-owned clothing and accessories is the ONLY truly green way to shop for a closet.

A perfect pepper.

The ladies taking a stroll.

Enjoying the beautiful sunshine today. The weather was just perfect.

See you next time I Style Higher™.

When I found out about  Tooth Soap® I've never turned back! It leaves my teeth feeling so smooth, fresh and healthy! I never liked the chemical taste toothpaste seemed to leave in my mouth. I've had a clean bill of health after all my 6-month (dental) checkups. Tooth Soap® also helps in the re-mineralization process of teeth that have been damaged. Love that part. Tooth Soap® doesn't contain glycerin, which coats your teeth (like toothpaste).  Again, Tooth Soap® allows your teeth to remineralize, and stay healthy! ~ Mary T., Minnesota

A Higher Platform For Fashion Bloggers: How To Easily Monetize Your Blog

My daughter gave me a style challenge recently.

She wanted to know if I could make a certain

pair of shoes fit into an elegant outfit.

I accepted the challenge and purchased the shoes.

I chose my new white skirt and a Chanel sweater from 8 years ago.

The Milk Glass Jewelry came next...

I then chose a beautiful walking stick to help me balance...

Fred Gwynne, you are an inspiration!

You never used one walking stick!

Here is the completed ensemble...

Not only was I able to style these shoes with elegance,

but they also gave me an idea for a business opportunity!

TAKE A LOOK AT ALL OF THAT AD SPACE!

Imagine the possibilities!

Walking around with ads on your feet could bring in

$100 - $200 per shoe! :-)

See how easy it is to create style through a higher platform

and monetize your blog at the same time?

Thank you for joining me today.

Designer Dish

My outfit today reminds me of a designer dish, made with unique ingredients

and simmered over a few decades.

The silk shirt is new, but the rest of the outfit has been aged like fine wine.

Similar to my "pushin 50" fine wine age.

Inspired by the chain on the Chanel bag, I needed a thick gold necklace to make this work.

Truth be told, I needed a necklace that I have seen on some rappers, but with the price

of gold so high, I knew I wasn't going to get a substantial gold chain around

my neck anytime soon.

Then one gold bracelet called out and said, "I will connect to everyone here, and together

we will make you that thick gold chain you desire!"

I love when my jewelry unifies itself.

And yes, it is normal for my jewelry to speak to me. :-)

I couldn't wait to add some spice... my "funky as all get out" Prada kitten heels.

That stitching on the camel makes me swoon (almost salivate)!

After being inspired (shamefully envious actually...) of Jeannie from Gracefully50.com's

extensive (RIDICULOUS!) Chanel handbag collection, I couldn't take it anymore.

So I took out a second mortgage on my house and bought myself a new (used) little Chanel beauty.

The skirt is from Valentino and from the length of it, my guess is that it's from

the late 70's or early 80's.

I love the gold buttons in the back that seem to simmer gently over the

slow flame (chain) from the Chanel bag.

I LOVE THESE SHOES!

I know, they are not for the weak of heart!

Maybe they are too strong and overpower the dish?

Chanel sunglasses with the red bows hiding are like a bit of chopped parsley, keeping it fresh.

Here is the necklace showing you how unified it can become when prompted

to become a part of the latest dish.

And yes, I am an opportunist too...

and that is our newest Tooth Soap®,

FennaMint Whip!

Thank you for joining me today.

Just as this necklace was happy to connect, I am thrilled you stopped by to connect too.

What outfits do you have that seem like a tasty dish?

I bet you have plenty you could whip up!

Have a beautiful day!

Speaking of DISHES...

Rouxbe knows how to teach you how to cook better than anyone.

I learned to cook from Julia Child when I was a little girl, but now

Rouxbe is here to fill in those cooking gaps for us.

I love Rouxbe almost as much as I love my Prada shoes!

24 Hour New York Stocking Trip

Here I am, a typical style blogger taking a pic in the airport restroom

while the lady washing her hands pretends that all of this is normal.

I was so excited about my trip to get the stockings I forgot my gloves!

Oh, the horror... but at least the road maps will be handled shortly.

Valentino and Levenger bags getting to know each other in the Atlanta airport restroom.

Hurry, take the pic before anyone notices!

Keep the camera still, you are shaking the camera!

The flight attendant gave me the evil eye the minute she saw the camera.

Taking pictures is not allowed on the plane! (in case you haven't heard).

She snickered something about a "blogger" and when she wasn't

looking, I snapped!

The pic that is.

I can be a serious rebel sometimes.

Guess where I flew today? Boy are my arms tired. :-)

I FINALLY got my stockings!

More colors of stockings and seams galore! I am so thrilled

I want to put all of them on right now, at the same time!

Okay, not really, but I am very excited!

Grinning from ear to ear because I just bought about

50 pairs of opaque back seam heaven!  You should have

seen the smile on the lady's face who sold them to me! :-D

Lunch always consists of sushi when I am in New York.

It's mandatory. Like my stockings.

And in case you were wondering...

Dapper duds for dudes work well for the Style Mentor™...

Indeed, men need to dress up too. Like the ensemble below please,

thank you very much!

Pretty dishes for elegant dining style...

I almost bought this necklace because I love the color of rose gold.

Rosy gold is so gorgeous with the pinky nude that I am mad for now.

I almost got this necklace too...

I got this bracelet instead because it was so RIDICULOUSknew it belonged on my wrist.

And it would be a perfect match for my pinching pave earrings that I have to

remove after 30 minutes of wearing because of the intense pain they cause.

The little bossy Valentino bag insisted I shoot a picture of her, ALONE.

Her bow was wet from the rain, but she didn't care.

She said, "Shoot me now!"

She is such a diva...

After getting somewhat drenched, I have to say that the Revlon hair hat held up quite well!

It's always the same when I come to the city that never sleeps.

I have to say, "I love New York!"
